A spelling error on a Christmas Eve letter reroutes six-year-old Poppy's wishes from the North Pole to the Lord of Hell himself. He answers by dispatching Cerberus, stripped of two heads and wearing a red bow, to guard the orphaned girl in her crumbling shack. Renamed Pippy, the talking hellhound chases off intruders and becomes the family she lost. When school torment escalates, the devil manifests as a giant shadow to scatter her bullies, suffering black lightning wounds for breaking infernal law. Later, facing orphanage removal, he adopts her as Lucifer Morningstar, eventually storming Heaven's gates to grant her final wish: one last goodbye with the parents who died saving strangers.
